MIT 13.5 - Lt. Gen. Keith B. Alexander

Army Lieutenant General Keith B. Alexander has been nominated for appointment to the grade of general and assignment as director, National Security Agency (NSA); chief, Central Security Service (CSS); and commander, U.S. Cyber Command. Alexander is currently serving in the NSA and CSS posts, but will be the first to head the newly established Cyber Command.

Army Brigadier General Mark S. Bowman has been nominated for appointment to the grade of major general. Bowman is currently serving as director of architecture, operations, networks and space, Office of the Chief Information Officer/G-6, Army.


Donald G. Diggs has been assigned as director, national leadership command capabilities, Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Networks and Information Integration). Diggs previously served as the director, command and control policy, Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Networks and Information Integration).


Navy Vice Admiral Bernard J. McCullough III has been nominated for reappointment to the grade of vice admiral and assignment as commander, Fleet Cyber Command/commander, Tenth Fleet, Fort Meade, Md. McCullough is currently serving as deputy chief of naval operations for integration of capabilities and resources, N8, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations.


MIT 13.4 - BG N. Lee S. Price

Army Brigadier General N. Lee S. Price, who has been serving as deputy program executive officer, Integration, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md., has been assigned as program executive officer, command, control, and communications tactical. She replaces Major General Nick Justice, who has been named as commanding general, Army Research, Development and Engineering Command. (See page 21 of this issue.)
 


Teresa M. Salazar has been appointed to the Senior Executive Service and assigned as deputy director for command, control, communications, and computer systems programs, Joint Chiefs of Staff. Salazar previously served as assistant deputy director, information and cyberspace policy, Joint Chiefs of Staff, strategy and policy directorate, Department of Air Force.


James Smerchansky has been assigned as deputy commander, command, control, communications, computer, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, Marine Corps Systems Command.


Stephen D. Hogan has been named vice president of information operations and electronic attack and Integrated Product Team leader for Northrop Grumman’s Aerospace Systems sector. The team’s responsibilities include the Improved Capability III airborne electronic attack system in the EA-6B Prowler and its derivative in the EA-18G Growler, the company’s Next Generation Jammer offering, and decision support and targeting software tools such as RainStorm and the Net-centric Enabled Mission eXecution System.


Linda Hudson has been appointed chief operating officer, BAE Systems plc, and president and chief executive officer of BAE Systems Inc. Previously president of BAE Systems’ Land and Armaments Operating Group, Hudson succeeds Marine Corps General Tony Zinni (Ret.), who was appointed as the acting president and CEO of BAE Systems in June. Zinni will continue to serve as chairman of the BAE Systems board. Janet Oliver has joined ITT Systems Division as vice president and director of business development.


David F. Toomey III has been appointed senior vice president for cyber operations in the Mission Solutions Group of QinetiQ North America. He joins the company after a long career in the Air Force, where his ultimate assignment was as commander of the Air Force Information Operations Center. In addition, Mary Craft has been appointed senior vice president for national systems in the company’s Mission Solutions Group. She joins the company from General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, where she served as vice president, intelligence engineering line of business.


The Network Centric Operations Industry Consortium (NCOIC) has elected Daniel Starcevich of Raytheon as chairman of its executive council. Edgar Buckley, of Thales, will support Starcevich as vice chair, government relations. Starcevich assumes the chairmanship from Cisco’s Terry Morgan, who will serve as chairman emeritus. Starcevich is an engineering director at Raytheon Network Centric Systems. Buckley serves as senior vice president of European business development for the Thales Group. ♦
